Florida Medical Center Names New Chief Operating Officer

matt garner COOFort Lauderdale, Fla. (August 25, 2016) –Florida Medical Center appoints Matt Garner as its new Chief Operating Officer. He will be responsible for overseeing various departments within the hospital, including Rehabilitation, Food & Nutrition Services, Environmental Services, Outpatient Sleep Lab, Plant Operations, Pharmacy, Imaging & Cardiopulmonary, and more. In his previous role, Garner served as the Associate Administrator at Florida Medical Center.

Prior to joining Florida Medical Center, Garner was the Assistant Administrator at sister hospital, Delray Medical Center, where he led several initiatives and co-chaired the Tenet Florida Regional Biomedical and Plant Operations Committees. Garner started with Tenet Healthcare in May 2013 as an Administrative Intern and has continued to develop and excel within the organization. 

Garner is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and received his Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida and his Master of Health Administration from the University of Florida.
