Tenet’s Florida Hospitals Celebrate National Healthcare Volunteer Week

Mar 3, 2020
Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach Counties, Fla. (April 6, 2015) – National Healthcare Volunteer Week, April 12-18, is a special opportunity for Tenet Healthcare’s Florida hospitals to pay tribute to the volunteers who devote their time, energy and talent to serving their respective communities.

This year’s theme, Transforming the Patient Experience, presents an opportunity for individuals to honor the ordinary people who accomplish the extraordinary through volunteer service and motivate others to follow their lead.

"The support we receive from the hundreds of volunteers throughout South Florida allows us to deliver a higher level of patient engagement and quality care," said Marsha Powers, CEO of Tenet Healthcare’s Florida Region. "They are a significant addition to our hospitals, and we value their dedication to serving others."

Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community and help those in need, while also gaining valuable skills that can be used later in life. The selfless support provided by Tenet Healthcare volunteers allows the hospitals to deliver an added level of service to patients and visitors.

Established by President Richard Nixon in 1974, National Volunteer Week is about encouraging others to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. Every April, charities, hospitals, and communities recognize volunteers and foster a culture of service.

"I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to all of our volunteers," said Powers. "We hope this week’s celebration motivates others to get involved and pursue their passions."
