Digital imaging on-site

High tech digital imaging is the cornerstone of modern medical care. New technologies make diagnosing illnesses faster, easier and more accurate. That’s why we offer an on-site digital imaging center, staffed by doctors who specialize in interpreting these images. Our lab includes digital MRI, mammography, 256-slice CT scans and cutting-edge radiology procedures.

If you have any questions about our imaging center, please contact us.

An MRI with digital capabilities

Florida Medical Center now has one of the newest and highest-resolution magnetic resonance imaging scanners available: the Ingenia 1.5T system from Philips Healthcare. The high-field Ingenia 1.5T provides high image quality designed to aid diagnostic confidence, increase clinical versatility and improve productivity by shortening MRI exam times. In addition, patients will appreciate its many comfort-related features.

In order to visualize detailed structures within the human body, MRI orchestrates the application of radio frequency (RF), audio frequency and static magnetic fields, the strength of which is measured in Tesla (T) units. Clinicians have long relied on MRI for its exceptional ability to differentiate various soft tissues. Until now, all MRI systems have utilized analog components for the signal acquisition and processing needed to generate patient images. However, the use of analog components during these processes has limited the upper reaches of image clarity and quality.

Our Digital MRI assists radiologists and physicians in the early diagnosis of a variety of medical conditions, including brain and nervous system disorders, cardiovascular disease and organ disease. The system also offers a more comfortable patient experience. With a simplified pre-exam set-up, and a large 70cm bore, the system is more comfortable for patients and operators.
