As our population ages, Florida Medical Center has enhanced the care for seniors. The Senior Care Unit is designed to address the needs of our senior patients. The unit provides comprehensive care that is specifically designed to address the needs of the elderly. The unit features a senior-friendly environment focused on safety and management of geriatric syndromes.

Senior Emergency Room

Florida Medical Center also has a Senior Emergency Room that allows our senior patients to get fast, personalized care in the event of an emergency. Our hospital environment is specially designed for their comfort and safety.

Features of our Senior ER include:

  • Specialized nurse and physician training to improve care for the elderly
  • Large faced clocks, calendars, boards and vital information throughout the ER
  • Large keyboards on telephones
  • Nonskid floor surfaces and handrails to help prevent falls
  • Landscape lighting in the rooms
  • Sound resistant rooms
  • Thicker, more comfortable mattresses
